The phonograph collection is supplemented by a collection of around 500 black phonographic cylinders of factory manufacture and around 200 yellow amateur recordings, along with several thousand standard gramophone records. There are also Pathé records with depth recording and large records used for sound accompaniment to films before the invention of optical recording of sound directly on film. The collection includes about 50 Marconi-Stille tapes and about 20 Philips-Miller tapes. There is even a device for playing phonographic cylinders and standard records via electricity.
