Museum of Architecture and Civil Engineering

An independent organizational component – the Museum of Architecture and Civil Engineering – oversees the unique collection related to architectural and civil engineering activities at the National Technical Museum.
This branch was created in 2008 from the NTM’s previous Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering by expanding to include other activities including a share in the preparation of the Center for Building Heritage in Plasy.
The Museum of Architecture and Civil Engineering is composed of collection and archive parts, including:

Architecture collections, Civil Engineering collections and the Archive of Architecture and Civil Engineering. An expert curator ensures the proper administration of each collection, while specialised archivists oversee the management of the Archive of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The Museum of Architecture and Civil Engineering also takes care for our founded Center for Building Heritage in Plasy.

As part of the renovations of the NTM’s main building on Letná, there was created the new Architecture, Civil Engineering and Design exhibition, which presents to our visitors a good view into the proces of development of Czech architecture of the latter half of the 19th and 20th century via architectural models, pictorial documentation and installations of impressive interiors from the respective periods.
