PhDr. Benjamin Fragner
Dr. Benjamin Fragner is a historian of architecture, concentrating on preservation and changes in industrial buildings. Since 2002, he has been director of the research center of industrial heritage ČVUT, which became part of the architecture faculty in 2010. He graduated from the faculty of social sciences UK, worked as an editor and later chief editor of the Technical Magazine and the Forum of Architecture and Construction. In 1986, he founded the Section for the Preservation of Industrial Heritage of the National Technical Museum, whose first exhibit, "Industrial Architecture - Unused Heritage" brought the first examples of conversion. At the AMU, Dr. Fragner is engaged in the project of locating nontraditional places for artistic creation and is a member of a commission of the Ministry of Culture for evaluating suggestions of objects for cultural heritage status (in the area of industrial heritage).
 

Dr. Ing. Ján Fabián

Prof. Ing. Václav Havlíček, CSc.
Professor Václav Havlíček has been rector of ČVUT in Prague since 2006. He graduated FEL ČVUT (measurement and control technology), since 1997 is a professor in the field of theoretical electrotechnology, 1994-1996 a vice-dean for development ČVUT FEL, and subsequently (1997-2003) vice-rector for development ČVUT. He is a member of the scientific board of several universities (FEL ČVUT, ČVUT and Technical University in Liberec), advisory board MŠMT ČR and Academic Congress AV ČR. Among other noteworthy functions are his memberships in numerous domestic and foreign associations and organizations like EAEEIE (European Association for Education of Electrical and Information Engineering), executive board of VV EUNIS-CZ (European University Information Systems) and executive board of the Czech conference of rectors and deputy chairman for economic and social affairs. He is also the author of many notable publications, author's attestations and patents.

Prof. RNDr. Helena Illnerová, DrSc.
Professor Helena Illnerová is a leading scientist and researcher in the field of physiology and biochemistry; as a professor, she lectures at the natural science faculty UK. In 1989 she was elected to the chamber of representatives ČSAV, four years later to the Academic congress AV ČR, and from the same year, worked in the Academic Board AV ČR as the deputy chairwoman. She is a member of the scientific boards of Charles' University and South Bohemian University in České Budějovice, a member of the European Advisory Commission for Research and the Grand Jury for the EU Descartes Prize for research. In 2006, she became chairwoman of the Czech Commission for UNESCO for three years, an advisory and coordinating body of the Czech government, and of the Commission for ethics of scientific research in AV ČR. In 2005, she received a Czech state honor - Medal for Merit 2nd Class. In 2007, she received the highest academic honor - Honorable Medal AV ČR De scientia et humanitate optime metritis. She carries the French state rank of commissioned officer of the Board of Academic Palms and a gold UK medal.

Eng. Václav Jandáček
Engineer Václav Jandáček is a construction engineer, graduate of ČVUT. His field is the statics and dynamics of construction, history of construction and technology. He is the owner of a construction company working in concrete, wood and steel construction, reconstruction of structures and restoration of technical memorials. He is a member of ČKAIT; 1985-192, in the former Czechoslovakian association for history of science and technology, he was chairman of the section for history of construction, and is a long-term member of the Club for Old Prague. He is a member of the advisory board MK for technical memorials, the commission for design of a new memorial law and the Prague city council's Board of Experts for matters of memorial care. He regularly publishes in professional journals. During the years of his tenure, Eng. Jandáček prepared numerous designs and projects for restoration and reconstruction of historical structures and technical memorials from industrial and civil constructions.

Prof. JUDr. Marie Karfíková, CSc.
Professor Marie Karfíková devotes herself to financial and tax law. Since 1975 she has worked in the financial law and financial science division of the Law Faculty of Charles' University in Prague. During 1999-2006, she was a member of the legislative board of the Czech government and currently is a member of the science board of the Law Faculty UK in Prague, advisory commission of the Czech National Bank, advisory commission of the Ministry of Schools, Youth and Physical Fitness, and arbitrator of the Arbitration Court for Czech Chamber of Commerce and Agrarian Chamber. She is also a member of the executive council of the "Nadání Josefa, Marie a Zdeňky Hlávkových" Foundation.

Colonel Mgr. Aleš Knížek
Colonel Aleš Knížek is a graduate of the Military University in Bratislava. Since 1994, he has worked in the former Historical Institute of the Army of the Czech Republic, and since 2002, in the newly formed Military Historical Institute, where he is currently the director. He is one of the founders of the Military Technical Museum in Lešany, the author of several tens of publications and articles concerned with military history with a focus on the 20th century and history of military technology.

Doc. PhDr. Jiří Kotalík, CSc.
Doc. Jiří Kotalík is a historian of art and architecture. During 1997-2003, he was the rector of the Academy of Art in Prague, and has been named into the role again for the period 2010-2014. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Art Board AVU, since 2003 the head of the division of the theory and history of art, and since 2004, the chairman of the Academic Senate AVU. He is a member of the presidium board of universities, Czech conference of rectors, representative commission MŠMT and European league of art schools ELIA. In 2003-2004, he was the general director of the National Memorial Institute. He has roles in FA ČVUT, FAMU, FF UK and NPÚ. He devotes himself to popularization of architecture and the heritage of Josef Hlávka. He is a member of the scientific board of the National Memorial Institute, the board of the Ministry of Culture for science and development, executive board of the National Committee ICOMOS, the Mánes Association of Artists (chairman since 2008), the civil association Symposion and Pro Bohemia, Art History Association in Bohemia, association of art critics and theoreticians and Representative Commission MŠMT. He is the author of over 80 professional texts and publications from the field of modern architecture history and conservation of cultural heritage.

Doc. Ing. Petr Kotlík, CSc.
Doc. Petr Kotlík is an expert in the field of application of polymers for the preservation of memorials, methodology and materials for conservation and restoration of stone and other inorganic materials. He graduated from VŠCHT in Prague, faculty of chemical technology, habilitation on the field of technology of macromolecular substances. In 1974-1992, he worked as a scientific researcher and professional assistant at the University in chemical technology in the Prague laboratory of chemical restoration of artistic works. Since 1992, he has worked in the Institute of Chemical Technology for restoring memorials at VŠCHT. He is chairman of the Association for Technological Preservation of Memorials STOP, a member of the Ministry of Culture's Commission for Restoration, the scientific board of the general director of the National Heritage Institute, the Artistic Board of the Restoration Faculty of the University in Pardubice and the board of the project Center of restoration of memorial architecture of the 20th century, NPÚ.

PhDr. Jan Králík
Dr. Jan Králík is a publicist who worked in ČTK, in the editorial staff of the magazine Svět motorů (World of Motors) and worked for the Transportation and Interconnection Publisher. He is the author of books and publications dealing with the history of automobiles and bicycles. He has assisted with numerous exhibitions.

Prof. RNDr. Ivo Kraus, DrSc.
Professor Ivo Kraus is the lead scientist of the strong materials division of the Nuclear Faculty and Physical Engineering ČVUT. He graduated MFF UK in physics and his field is experimental physics, specializing in technical application of x-ray diffraction analysis. He is one of our most well known popularizers of technology and natural science. He is the author of numerous original scientific works and specialized monographs, interests himself in the history of natural science and is a member of the promotion commission of the Union of Mathematicians and Physicists.

Eng. Pavel Křeček
Engineer Pavel Křeček is the chairman of the chamber of authorized engineers and technicians in construction (ČKAIT). He graduated from the construction faculty ČVUT. He is a member of the Engineering Academy ČR and the scientific board of the construction faculty ČVUT. An independent engineer by trade (authorized engineer for waterworks, landscape engineering and urban engineering). His professional interests are waterworks, urban engineering and leading projects with an emphasis on urban engineering. He is the author of numerous professional articles on urban engineering.

Prof. RNDr. Václav Pačes, DrSc.
Professor Václav Pačes is a leading Czech scientist in biochemistry, working in the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Academy of Science, where he was the director. During 2005-2009, he was the chairman of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic. He studied biochemistry at the Natural Science Faculty of Charles' University in Prague. He has worked at Yale University, University of Chicago, Seville and Bristol, and the University of Applied Biochemistry in Japan. Since 2010, he has been the chairman of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic. He is a member of the scientific advisory board at Charles' University, the chemical-technological advanced school in Prague and its faculty of food industry and biochemical technology, boards of the European Journal of Biochemistry and Chemical Papers, and editor of the international magazine Research in Microbiology. He was elected to the European Academy of Science and Art, and the European Molecular Biological Organization (EMBO), and repeatedly elected as chairman of the Czech Association for Biochemical and Molecular Biology. In 1989, he was awarded the state award for science, and is holder of the award of the Czechoslovakian Academy of Science (ČSAV) and the ČSAV award for the popularization of science. He has published over 100 original works and coauthored five monographs.

Prof. JUDr. Václav Pavlíček, CSc., Dr.h.c.
Professor Václav Pavlíček is a renowned expert on constitutional law. He is a professor at the Law Faculty of Charles' University and holds the post of chairman of the advisory board and presidium of the "Nadání Josefa, Marie a Zdeňky Hlávkových" Foundation. From the beginning of 1989, he led the law section of the Czechoslovakian Helsinki Accords; in 1990, he was elected its deputy chairman. After 1989, he worked on legislative matters, primarily in the area of political rights. Early in 1990, he returned to the law faculty, was named docent and subsequently vice dean. In recent years, he was a member of several legislative governmental boards and works in various bodies of the Academy of Sciences ČR. He is the author of several textbooks on constitutional law.

Prof. Ing. Pavel Ripka, CSc.

PhDr. Jana Součková, DrSc.
Dr. Jana Součková is a scientist and researcher with a focus on cultural history of the near East and the Hittite culture. She graduated from the Philosophical Faculty UK (sphenography and prehistory). She is currently the Secretary of Science in the National Museum and the statutory deputy of the general director of the National Museum. She is a member of the editorial board of the Annals of the Náprstek Museum, coordinator of the Czech Committee of the Blue Shield, national correspondent of the European museum forum and a member of the Cultural Board of the Czech Commission for cooperation with UNESCO. During 1991-2000, she was chairwoman of the Czech board ICOM.

PhDr. Zuzana Strnadová
Dr. Zuzana Strnadová has worked since 2000 as the director of the Prague city museum. She graduated from the Philosophical Faculty of Charles' University with an emphasis on philosophy and economics. In subsequent years, she worked as program director of the Klicper Theater in Prague, director of the cultural house in Ládví and producer of a private gallery in Prague. Since 1990, she has been head of the presentation department in the Prague city museum, since 2000 as the museum's director. She is chairwoman of the Czech panel ICOM (International board of museum and galleries) and holds the post of chairwoman of the Prague regional section of the Association of Museums and Galleries (AMG).

PhDr. Filip Suchomel, Ph.D.
Dr. Filip Suchomel is a historian of art and Japanese studies, graduate of FF UK in Prague (Japanese studies and art history) and a lecturer at VŠUP on history of Asian art. His professional work is focused on the history of Japanese art, primarily ceramics, lacquer, cloisonné, graphics and photographs, and analyzes their acceptance in European countries. In the past, he worked as the principal curator of the Asian collection in Náprstek Museum, director of the Asian art collection in the National Gallery and principal curator of the Brno Moravian Gallery. Currently he is the first vice rector of VŠUP in Prague.

Eng. Vlastimil Vykydal
Engineer Vlastimil Vykydal is the director of the Technical Museum in Brno. He is a graduate of the advanced agricultural college in Brno and the field of museology at Masaryk University in Brno. During 1972-1980, he worked in the administration of Zbrojovka Brno (Brno Rifles). From 1980, he has worked in the Technical Museum in Brno, since 1996 as its director. During the years 1998-2005, he prepared and executed the program of preservation and renewal of the Technical Museum in Brno, acknowledged first by the national prize Gloria Musaealis, subsequently in 2006 by ranking in the excellent club of patrons of world cultural heritage in the world-wide competition The Best in Heritage in Dubrovník. 2000-2009 he was a member of the presidium of the Czech commission of the international of museums and galleries (ICOM) of UNESCO, a member of the executive board and deputy chairman of the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic, a member of the board of the National Museum in Prague, the Scientific board of the National Agricultural Museum in Prague and the Slovak Technical Museum in Košice.

Prof. Ing. Ivan Wilhelm, CSc.
Professor Ivan Wilhelm is a nuclear physicist, professor in the field of experimental physics, rector emeritus UK, member of the advisory council to the Czech government on research and development and the first freely elected chairman of the Academic Senate UK. He graduated from the technical and nuclear physics faculty ČVUT. He began his scientific career immediately after graduation, in 1961, when he was initially at ČVUT and later in the mathematical-physical faculty UK. At the 1960s-1970s crossover, he spent a great deal of time in the Soviet laboratory of neutron physics in Dubna. 1990-1994 he was director of the Nuclear Center of MFF UK, 1994-2000 he was vice rector of Charles' University, and deputy chairman and later chairman of the board of advanced colleges. 2000-2006 he was rector UK and chairman of the Czech conference of rectors. For many years, he worked as chairman of the board of the INGO program at MŠMT, later as chairman of the board of programs. He was a member of the board of the European University Association in Brussels 2000-2006. He works in the area of experimental nuclear physics and particle physics, is the author or coauthor of almost 100 professional publications, participant of numerous professional conferences and has been invited to lecture at many foreign universities. He is a member of the board for coordination of ČR and SUJV in Dubna, where he is also chairman of the scientific board. He worked on the board of the European University Association and is a member of the board of the International Association of Universities. He is a member of the senate AV ČR and a permanent guest of the government board for research and development. Awards: Knight Order of Academic Palm of the French Republic, Vatican Knight Order of St. Gregory the Great and several honorary doctorate degrees (Claude Bernard Université Lyon, Univerzita Komenského in Bratislava).

Eng. Svatopluk Zídek
Engineer Svatopluk Zídek is president of the Czech Alliance of Construction Engineers ČSSI. He graduated from the construction faculty ČVUT in Prague. 1989-1990 he was the director of the state concern Construction Establishment in Karlovy Vary, subsequently in 1997 the director of the První Stavební Corporation. He is an independent construction expert in the field of structural engineering. In 1992, he was one of the founders of the Czech chamber of authorized engineers and technicians working in construction, a member of the board of directors and master of the Regional Office ČKAIT Karlovy Vary. He is a member of the union of entrepreneurs in construction. He belongs among the initiators and cofounders of the biannual inspection of technical memorials (Industrial tracks).

Eng. Karel Zeithammer, CSc.
Engineer Karel Zeithammer is a graduate of the machine faculty of ČVUT, where he worked during 1960-2005 in the division of parts and mechanism of machines. In 1997-2008, he worked in the National Technical Museum, first up through 2003 as head of the department of transportation history; in 1999, he founded the National Technical Museum's Railroad Museum, of which he became the director 2003-2006. 1998-2006 he was a member of the executive board of ICOHTEC, 2007-2008 an advisor to the National Technical Museum general director. He has led seminars, projects and lectures in the area of technology development.

Dr. Martin Ebel, Ph.D.
Dr. Martin Ebel is the director of the museum of architecture and construction of the National Technical Museum. He is a graduate of history in the philosophical faculty of Charles' University. His professional specialty is the use of written records as a source for history of construction and architecture, historical construction law, history of construction schools, projections and building construction. By turns, he worked as an archivist on the National Archive in Prague, in the studio of the historical construction research department of the state institute for reconstruction of memorial places and objects in Prague and since the early 1990s, as a scientific worker in the institute of history of architecture and art at the architectural faculty in ČVUT. He is currently assisting with the National Technical Museum Center of Cultural Heritage in Plasy.

PhDr. Miloš Hořejš
Dr. Miloš Hořejš is a historian of science and technology, currently the science secretary of the National Technical Museum. He graduated in history and political studies at the philosophical faculty UK in Prague; since 2002 he is a research and development worker, first in the department of history of science and technology of the National Technical Museum, in 2008 he became head of the department of science and technology of the National Technical Museum. From 2008, he is also a member of the science advisory board for the Ministry of Culture. In his professional work, he focuses on history of technology, gives presentations at professional conferences and symposiums, and devotes himself to teaching and publication.

PhDr. Jan Hozák
Dr. Jan Hozák is a long-term employee of the National Technical Museum archive, where he was head of the department until 2010. He graduated from the philosophical faculty UK in Prague (history - Czech language). In 2011, he was awarded the honorable Medal for Merit in preserving Czech architecture. He is the author or coauthor of numerous publications and devotes himself to popularizing history of technology. He is a member of scholarly and professional organizations. He cofounded the section of specialized archives in the Czech Archive Association, works in the Association for history of science and technology and in the past, worked in the commission CES at MK ČR.

Mgr. Arnošt Nezmeškal
Mgr. Arnošt Nezmeškal is a motorcycle and bicycle curator of the National Technical Museum in Prague (since 1997). 1992-1998 he studied at the Institute if Informational Studies and Library Science at the philosophical faculty of Charles' University. 1993-1994, he worked in the mining department of the National Technical Museum in Prague, later became a curator in department of transportation history.
