The oldest are samples of camera obscuras – predecessors to darkrooms. The collection follows with chambers for daguerreotypes and the wet collodion process. The collection also features dozens of studio and portable chambers for dry plates, manual chambers for plates and roll film, cassette, box, tilting and brace types, single and twin-lens reflex cameras, cine-film cameras, mini-cameras, special cameras – underwater, panoramic, stereoscopic, for aerial photography, microphotography and spectroscopy, camouflage, reproduction, cameras for multi-colour photography-Bernpohl, Spektaretta.

The collection of camera lenses consists of some five hundred items. Also extensive is the collection of camera accessories, darkroom equipment, exposure setting equipment, illuminating technology, flashbulbs and filament lamps and apparatuses for viewing and screening static images.
