The blacksmithing collection features universal and specialised tools used in all blacksmithing activities. Blacksmithing tools and aids haven’t changed over the centuries, and so the collection captures the historical development of the trade very well. Some of the items date back to the 17th century. The locksmithing collection focuses on more than 650 locks, keys, and furniture and door ironwork from the 15th century to present. The collection includes masterworks that depict the handcraft skills, the creative design thinking and stylistic influences of the trade.
