Although it’s not large, it offers a glimpse of a collection of unique transportation designs – especially from the 1950s to the 1990s.
The oldest group of objects consists of designs by Z. Kovář for Tatra Kopřivnice from the 1950s. These are the definitive model of the T 603 passenger car, models of steering wheels for the T 137/138 lorry and trailer tanks for this vehicle. Models from the “Prague development” in the late 1950s and early 1960s and related to Otakar Diblík’s work are also linked to the Tatra brand.
Three acquired works by designer Václav Král from the late 1980s and early 90s represent very attractive objects, models from the Škoda Auto designer studio and remarkable student work of recent years represent very attractive objects.
The subgroups of agricultural technology, construction machines and handling technology are also related to the areas of this collection.
Štefan Malatinec’s models of Desta forklifts, road rollers and other machines from the 1960s and 70s and some of the work of Petr Tučný for domestic producers of construction and ground machines, including the design of the first Czechoslovak hydraulic excavator, represent the extensive collection.
