Clockmaker Technology

stolní hodinářský soustruh s ručním pohonem, 2. polovina 19. století

The group of clockmaker technology was originally part of the clockmaker collections and in time became a separate collection due to its size and the importance that clockmaker technology had for the development of mechanical engineering in the 18th and 19th centuries. The collection numbering about 200 objects contains a wide range of clockmaker desk tools, such as lathes, cutters and spacing tools for gearing, special mechanisms such as rollers, planers, presses for loading bearings, sizing dies, aids and preparations for a wide range of clockmaker operations (tamping and setting openings, collaring and polishing pins) and various gauges.
