Railway Museum of National Technical Museum invites visitors to the event of disclosure railway depository NTM in Chomutov.

From 27st of June are opened two new esposures at the National Technical Museum.

The main theme of exposure Chemistry around us is the story about meeting place of human and chemistry during the day. The story, whose target should be to awareness, that chemistry is really everywere around us and for a human and his existence is absolutely  indispensable, because we encounter with processes of chemistry and its development based or directly related with it.

A new exhibition titled Timing documents the development of timing apparatus throughout the historical and typological spectrum, special consideration is given to the development of the domestic watchmaking and considerable space is devoted to the technology of production clocks.

On the occasion of sixtieth anniversary of the start a television broadcasting was prepared by the National Technical Museum in cooperation with Czech television an exhibition, which deals with the development of television transmitter and receiver technology.

The operational and technical reasons, the exposition "printing" will be  12 am - 6:30 pm closed.

The National Technical Museum invites you to the second annual "Open Hood" weekend, October 6th and 7th, 2012. In the transportation hall, visitors will have a rare opportunity to see under the hood of selected automobiles, like the Bugatti 13, Tatra 11, SS Jaguar and even the Supermarine Spitfire airplane. The courtyard behind the transportation hall will be open as well, where the displays will include absolutely unique items like the Louis Baffrey project steam car, the replica of the NW Präsident and replica of the Siegfried Marcus car.p>

The basic premise of the exhibit is the person of Vojtěch Náprstek (1826-1894) and his efforts to acquaint the Czech public with technological advances, which peaked with the founding of the Czech Technical Museum in 1862. This is the 150th anniversary of the founding of technical museum collections in our land.

Saturday and Sunday, 8th and 9th of September, 2012 the National Technical Museum's railroad depository in Chomutov will be open to the public. The NTM is preparing the depository in cooperation with Czech Railways a.s. and the town of Chomutov. Visitors will see railroad exhibit items that are not normally available for public viewing. Traditional attractions are steam locomotives, but visitors will see many other items from the more than 80 historical rail vehicles stored in the depository.

INTERNATIONAL VETERAN RALLY & AUGUST FESTIVAL in Kutná Hora is a traditional race of historical vehicles with international participation.

In the Museum of Photography and Modern Image Media in Jindřichův Hradec, beginning June 24th, 2012, there is a pilot exhibit for the larger exposition "Might of the Media", titled "Photographic Portrait". The larger exposition, which is a joint project of the Museum of Photography and Modern Image Media and the National Technical Museum in Prague, will gradually present the history of photography and audiovisual media in our land, from 1839 through the present, and will highlight the growing role of photography and audiovisual media in forming modern society.
